I know it is not yet time for a newsletter but I just wanted to make you aware of a beautiful freebie page from Rita Berman to celebrate the launch of her new book. Even if you do not have access to a printer at the moment, you will have it there for when you do!
I have already printed my copy and have had questions about what paper i printed it on from a few people. I use Bristol board which you can get through my affiliate link on Amazon UK here*. However, make sure that you check the settings on your printer to make sure paper that thick will go through it. I cannot find the paper I use on US Amazon but Strathmore paper is often recommended although I have not tried it myself – https://amzn.to/3wcWZCk*.
You can use standard copy paper but it will not hold up to lots of pencil layers. It could also be a bit flimsy, but if you lean on a book when colouring on it, it can work okay. Card stock can also be an option, but it will depend on the type you have, as to how well it will work for you.
I have started to produce a series of videos to go with the download, which you can find in a playlist here. I am hoping to manage to record them in time so that you get one a day until the sheet is complete, but I cannot promise as scheduling is tricky with the builders in! Today we are full of dust and noise so all precious books, pencils and cameras are safely tucked away!
I am really excited about the new book too! I have a copy of pre-order from Book Depository and you can find it here*. It also has a listing on UK Amazon* but is not yet available to pre-order and there is no listing on US Amazon at all which is a shame. When I get my copy I will record a flip through as soon as I can and get it posted for you on YouTube. I am not sure exactly when it will get to me and exactly when I will be able to record, but I will be very excited and desperate to look through it as soon as possible with you!
I may seem very obsessed with Rita Berman at the moment but there will be videos from other illustrators coming soon too! We have Matchstick Mouse tomorrow, followed by Lulu Mayo the next few days and then some Johanna Basford. There will quite a variety as I try to do something for everyone!
Lastly, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone, for all the love that you have been showing me lately in different ways. It is hugely appreciated and makes me so happy.
