Hi Everyone,
The weather has certainly taken an autumnal turn here in the UK this week and it has got me thinking about colouring more autumnal pictures and I am also thinking about Halloween. Above is a wreath from Meine Reise Durch Europa by Rita Berman and I will be releasing a long series of tutorials to show you how to colour every part so look out for those, they started yesterday!
I have also started recording some Halloween videos too. Although I do not have many Halloween based pages, I have found some fun pages to do in a Halloween style. In the UK, we do not celebrate Halloween very much and I never have. However, it is still fun to try something a bit different with my colouring and share it with you. My Halloween videos will start on 10th October and I hope to do something Halloween inspired each day for the rest of the month.
I have been kindly gifted some new Arteza pencils and will slot in a review of those at some point and start using them in videos. I do record up to a few weeks in advance generally so may be a while until you see them as I have so many ideas for videos to fit in! I also have ordered Johannas Weekly Planner and will do a flip through of that as soon as I can too. I have her new book on pre-order as well, which will not be out until the end of the month though. Books seem to be coming out a bit later than their release dates in the UK at the moment too, so there may be some delays, but it just makes it all the more exciting when they do arrive!
If you cannot wait until the 10th for Halloween videos, I did make some last year. I have a Halloween playlist here where you can find them. I have tutorials of the pumpkin, cauldron, gravestone, door, window and sky from the above picture. This Johanna Basford page is a free download and so anyone can have a go. You can find it here.
Lastly, I wanted to tell you about two competitions. There is a Halloween competition being run by Grabie. As you may know, they sent me a set of pencils for free to review (my review is here) with a discount code of Rachel15 to get 15% off their products. They are now running a competition on Instagram where you can win colouring supplies. Check out their post about it here. You just have to comment on their post and follow them to enter. Colouring Heaven are running an Inktober competition where you can win previous copies of their magazine plus pencils, by just sending some details and subscribing to their newsletter. There are more details here. Good luck to everyone who enters!
Happy Colouring
